In the sky we see different colors at different times. Sometimes I see the sky is black, sometimes I see red and sometimes I see the color of the sky is blue. Most of the time we see blue in the sunny and cloudless sky. There are various scientific reasons for the sky to be blue. Then the color of the sky was supposed to be white. Then why does the sky look blue?


First, the sun not only emits white light but also ultraviolet light. Besides, 7 light rays are spread from the sun to the earth. They include purple, blue, azure, white, yellow, orange and red.


Secondly, these sun rays have to penetrate the 7 atmospheric layers of the earth to reach the earth. And we know that there are different types of gases and dust in the atmosphere. Most of the gases are oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, carbon and various other gases. These gases are in the gaseous state so they are colorless. However, in difficult conditions, these gases come in different colors. Such as purple to see carbon, light blue to see oxygen.


The sun's rays fall directly on the gases, dust, and water vapor in the atmosphere. And from them the 7 rays of the sun are first absorbed and then scattered and spread all around. Now you may ask why blue when all the colors are scattered?


This is because the wavelength of blue is much shorter than other colors so it is more scattered or scattered. After being absorbed into the particles, the other light rays reflected are scattered around so that their light is not scattered in one place. Meanwhile, the blue color is scattered in one place after being absorbed from the particles. So this blue color is more prominent than other colors. Because its wavelength or spread is less.


Meanwhile, our eyes are more sensitive to see blue and white. That is why we do not notice the slight purple rays mixed with the white color of the sun during sunlight. That is why I see the color of the sun is white.


We know that when water vapor in the sky takes the form of clouds, the color of the clouds appears white when the sunlight falls on the clouds. And when the sky is frozen, the clouds call. Then the sun's light could not reach the lower level clouds because of the upper clouds. And then everything goes dark. As a result, we see black clouds in the sky.


The blue layer in the sky that we see from the earth's surface is just our atmosphere. That is why the earth's sky looks blue from the ground or we see our earth called blue planet from other planets in space.


At sunrise or sunset we see the eastern or western sky red with light orange and yellow. This is because we have said before that sunlight first penetrates the atmosphere and then the light rays are absorbed and scattered in the atmosphere. Then the wavelength of red color is higher and the scattering is less. But then the sun shines horizontally or diagonally rather than during the day. Because of that, red color is more bright. So the eastern or western sky is seen red in the morning or evening.


The sky of our earth looks blue, so all the planets look blue. In fact, the color of the sky on other planets depends on its gas levels. So we see the sky of Mars is red and the sky of the moon is black.


When astronauts go into space beyond our Earth's atmosphere, the color of space appears black despite the presence of sunlight. The reason is that there is no atmosphere like Earth in space. So we got a complete idea of ​​why the color of the sky looks blue?
